ICC fined 40 per cent of match fees imposed on Windies team; Learn why

The Windies team is on a tour to Sri Lanka where a 3-match ODI series will be played between the two teams. Sri Lanka team won the first ODI of the series by one wicket in the last over. With this defeat, the ICC has imposed a match penalty on the Windies team due to slow over rate. The penalty was imposed on the Windies team by match referee Javagal Srinath.

In fact, in the first ODI match, the Windies team bowled a slow over during the match and it was 2 overs behind at the time of ICC. The ICC has fined the Windies team 40 percent of the match fee. The captain of the Windies team, Coran Pollard, has also accepted the ICC's decision.
