India eyeing series win against Africa, Mayank-Rohit have big responsibility

If the Indian team, which is on the chariot of victory, enters the second cricket Test starting here on Thursday, then it will be its intention to win the series keeping the rhythm while South Africa will forget the sorrow of embarrassing defeat and maintain their existence in the series. In the first Test in Visakhapatnam, Virat Kohli's team won by 203 runs. Now in Pune itself, he would not like to take any hesitation to make the series his name. There is almost no scope for improvement in 'Perfect Performance' but Kohli seeks a new challenge every time. Even if faced with a team that is not in a position to challenge for five consecutive days.

Mayank and Rohit pair again have a big responsibility

Rohit Sharma has indicated to emerge as a great opener in Test cricket by scoring two consecutive centuries. Mayank Agarwal also specializes in the fun of capitalizing on every opportunity. In Visakhapatnam, he scored his first double century in Test cricket, which seems to solve India's top-order problem, at least in domestic situations. After this, India also has to play two Tests from Bangladesh. Apart from Rohit and Mayank, India also has batsmen like Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari. On the same ground, the last time in 2017, Australia's off-spinner Nathan Lyon, on the pitch helped by spinners, had crushed the condition of Indian batsmen. There is no possibility of getting that kind of pitch this time.

Special attention of players will be on the pitch

Even if curator Pandurang Salgaonkar makes a similar pitch to him, India have world-class spinners in the form of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Dean Elgar and Quintone Diacock may have scored centuries for South Africa in the first Test, but it is not possible to repeat the way Steve Smith batted here in 2017. Ashwin, who took eight wickets in the last match and surpassed Jadeja, who specializes in all-round performance, is proving to be a crook for South Africa. Apart from this, Mohammad Shami's great performance with new and old ball on slow wickets has also been in India's favor. Ishant Sharma also supported him well.

The coordination of the two was such that Jasprit Bumrah was not missed. There is little hope of a change in the Indian XI when there is no fitness problem. South Africa can certainly exclude one of Senuran Muthuswamy and Dan Pete. Both of them Rohit had beaten the record and hit a record 13 sixes. Zubair Hamza may find a place when Muthuswamy is out. While Pete is out, Luingi can join the Angidi team.

Both the teams are as follows ………………

India: Virat Kohli (captain), Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Shubman Gill.

South Africa: Faf du Plessis (Captain), Temba Bavuma, Theunis de Bruyin, Quinton Decak, Dean Elgar, Zubair Hamza, Keshav Maharaj, Aden Markram, Senuran Muthusamy, Lungi Ngidi, Eric Nortje, Vernon Philander, Dan Pete, Kagiso Rabada and Rudy seconds.
